No 4 Around – Smallworks

The goal of the project no. 4 Umhverfing/No 4 Around is a journey through Dalir, Strandir and the Westfjords to promote culture and nature with art in traditional and non-traditional exhibition spaces and in collaboration with the local community in each place to create a discussion about the purpose of life and art. The basic idea was to show works by artists who live or have families or connections to this part of the country.
Guðrún contributed with 41 Smallworks at Hótel Laugar in Sælingsdalur. The exhibition is a summer exhibition and opend on July 2nd.

The Academy of the Senses is a non-profit artist run organization. The Academy seeks to increase sensation, deepen appreciation and awareness and give diverse experiences of artworks and art events for the public audience. The key activity is to create art exhibitions and bring contemporary art works into unconventional spaces. Part of these events is the meeting point of different viewpoints so every voice can be heard. The Academy has published books, catalogues and documented many art events.
